On Thursday, we had Gherghian at school. Like last year, it's what we joke to be Kuwaiti Halloween. But we don't dress up as someone else, we wear beautiful dura'as and the students give candy to everyone. It's to mark the half-way point of Ramadan for them.

That looks like a fun time! I like the blue clothing you were wearing; it's a beautiful colour.
Do they get to eat the candy? Or do they take it home for later?
Who is the character that is in the second picture, with red hair and silver clothes? We watched a seven episode drama show on TV this summer and some of the children in the show were wearing that type of character/anime mask. Is that a popular character there? We were trying to figure out what show or book they were from.

okay, just got back from the gym - and i got to watch a little Freej while working out - somehow i don't think it's a kid's show! it's a bunch of old muslim ladies doing quirky things. hehe. but it IS popular.
