Yesterday it rained!

Okay, yesterday it poured.
It rained so hard that it started hailing, marble sized pieces of ice.
It hit the windows with an incredible power, and I relived memories of Hurricane Juan from 2003.
But it only lasted a few minutes.
A few minutes and it managed to do a little damage to my classroom.
I lost a few ceiling tiles from the water that poured through my ceiling!
The water made its way down my floor (now I see the obvious tilt of the floor...who knew it wasn't level?)
Outside, the water flooded the streets, as the sewers are clogged from sandstorms. The street in front of the school became a little river!Okay, yesterday it poured.

I'm glad I could stay inside for another hour, even though it meant having to clean up my classroom! The girls came in wearing rubber boots. I remember rubber boots. We used to wear them in puddles when I was a kid, back home. I love puddles!
I spent 90 minutes cleaning and reorganizing my classroom...but there is still a lot to do! It really needs a good organizing, anyways. This is just a good excuse to do it! Now it's sunny. The dust is gone. The rain is really a blessing! My favourite thing about Kuwait is the hot sunshine - you can FEEL the rays penetrating your skin...and for the past few months, we've been living in a hazy sunshine/constant duststorm...it is amazing to see real sunshine again!
