My contacts are currently stuck to my eyes. But the idea of picking my butt off the couch and walking to the bathroom to peel them off of my eyes just makes me even more tired. So here I sit, with dried-out, blurry eyes, thinking that it’s about time I get a new set of contacts out of the package.
Tomorrow.
But now, I will tell you about my day. (For some reason, my blogging program just decided to delete a couple of my paragraphs. Nicely done, Windows Live Writer. Do better or you’re fired.)
Or rather, I will tell you about the last couple of days, since they are pretty exciting.
On Wednesday evening, we had a large group Bible Study with the women from our initial Bible Study the first year I was here (at the end of that year, we “multiplied” into 3 smaller groups, since there were just too many of us there). Our menu? A delicious, salty, Ham. Our topic of discussion? Sex and Purity. That’s right, Ham and Sex. It doesn’t get much better than that, plus we giggle because it’s so “haram” – aka forbidden – in Kuwait.
I continue.
Yesterday, being Thursday (although it feels like a million years ago), me and two other teachers had the opportunity to skip school for a couple hours and drive around the country (it’s a small country. I guess I mean we drove between 2 districts), have an eye test, stand in lines, sit in a waiting room, and eat Subway…in order to get this:
(Yes, the Subway was necessary).
So tomorrow we’re going to get a car!!
Today’s adventures will be summed up in a photo montage. Hopefully you can guess what happened.
So there you have it. Can you guess? Maybe I’m missing a few key elements and photos. This should be more specific:
1. Beautiful November day. Perfect, weather, bright, clear, sunny skies. Walk, coffee, quiet time.
2. Off to church in a taxi.
3. Taxi blows a tired.
4. We stand on the grass, taking pictures and giggling.
5. Sprinklers go off. Andrea gets all wet!
6. New taxi comes, we go to church.
7. Church is awesome.
8. We go to the mall and eat lunch/supper at Applebee's.
9. The sun sets. We get groceries and go home.
10. I am sitting in my super comfy pants enjoying the quiet….but wishing my apartment was neater! Maybe I’ll do that now.
Tomorrow is going to be another busy day! We get our car (hopefully!!), go to the Harvest Festival at church (a really big bazaar with incredible food), and then to the Christmas Bazaar in Salmiya.
And somewhere in there I need to do laundry, clean my apartment, go to the gym and plan….but it’s okay. My God is greater than time. It’ll all get done.
