It's Easter Sunday!
It's now 9:30am and I have been awake for 6 and a half hours.
And I'm not even tired! (Although the 3 cups of coffee at breakfast could have helped with that!)
We hit up the Sunrise Service this morning at Church in Kuwait City.
When I wake up at 5:30am during the week, the sun is already up.
To be able to have church while the sun rises, we need to start REALLY early.
4:30am early.

It was awesome.

I love Church in Kuwait.
Because I know what a priviledge it is.
I know how BLESSED we are to be able to worship so freely in a Muslim country.
I know how quickly the government could take away this freedom.
We don't worry about denominations (although the different services have drastically different worship styles), because we know that we need to stand a united front if we are going to make a difference in this country.
Today our Easter service felt like real celebration.
Every day at work, at the malls, on the streets, we see the people around us who are so trapped and restricted and locked up in darkness...
And we are so free.
So we celebrate.

After the church service this morning, we went to breakfast.
Over 40 of us.
We took up 3 large tables at the restaurant.
There was laughter.
There was fellowship.
There was genuine love.
This is joy.
A little slice of Heaven on Earth.
Like Jesus wants for us.

I know He was there, celebrating with us.
Hallelujah!

Never before have I felt so alive
Never before have I felt I could fly
Never before have I ever been so free
Being with You
I now begin to see
That Your presence overwhelms me
It was awesome.
Because of You, I can dance
Because of You, I lift my hands
Because of You,
I can sing,
I am free

So we celebrate.
We're jumping,
shouting,
dancing,
spinning,
singing
There's freedom
