eaIt is Eid in the country of Kuwait! Happy Eid (or Eid Mubarak, as the locals might say).
We have a week off of school, so we're enjoying every day as much as possible. I spent the first day at school, rearranging my classroom, the second day painting a friend's apartment, and day number 3 was dedicated to a little touring of our beloved Kuwait.
So I have lived in this country for 2 years and a month (not to be exact, but there you go) and yesterday we finally made the trip up the Kuwait Towers.

They were destroyed during the Iraqi invasion in 1990, but they are all fixed up now - and looking fantastic. There are pictures in the sphere depicting the destruction by the "Barbarian Iraqis". I am so glad that I wasn't here in 1990. Or heck, in 2003.

This is one of the views of the city from the top of the viewing sphere. We like the twisty building on the left. This is pretty much the extent of the high rises in the city. The city is not so big - another reason why I like Kuwait.

Where my friends are standing is a rotating section of the sphere. I stood on it for a few minutes and then felt the overwhelming urge to spew the entire contents of my lunch...I imagine it was a mixture of the *slight* spinning motion and the height of the towers. (The older I get, the wimpier I get! Sigh). So I took a few pictures and hid downstairs until they were ready to leave.
I think we need a week vacation every couple of weeks. It would make life a whole lot easier!!

LOVE the shot in the tower with the glass ball things! Looks like a great time! But I can't figure out why you love the heat so much. I would die.
